The Story
The Zaza appears in Harry Craddock's 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book: equal parts gin and Dubonnet, the French quinine-laced aromatised wine, finished with a dash of orange bitters. It is a drink with a long British pedigree, and the royal family's reputed favourite pairing of gin and Dubonnet is a close relative.
