The Story
The Shamrock Cocktail is an old Irish whiskey drink listed in vintage bartending guides, including The Savoy Cocktail Book (1930). It combines Irish whiskey and dry vermouth with small measures of green Chartreuse and crème de menthe, giving a faint herbal green tint and a cool minty finish. Despite the name, it is a sophisticated stirred drink rather than a novelty for one particular day of the year.
