Rum Old Fashioned
ClassicAged rum, demerara, and bitters stirred over one big cube.

The Story
The Rum Old Fashioned applies the original 1800s "cocktail" formula of spirit, sugar, water, and bitters to aged rum instead of whiskey. There is no single inventor to credit; it grew out of the craft-bar fascination with sipping rums in the 2000s and 2010s. Demerara syrup is the natural partner, echoing the molasses and caramel already in a good bottle.
