Sharp, clean lime with the soft sweetness of white rum. Crisp, simple, and bright.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz White Rum
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.75 oz Simple Syrup
  • Lime wheel · optional garnish

Method

    Add the rum, lime juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.

    Shake until well-chilled.

    Strain into a chilled coupe.

    Garnish with a lime wheel.

The Story

The Gimlet is best known as a gin and lime drink, but the template works with any spirit. A rum Gimlet is effectively a Daiquiri by another name, and bars often use the two names for the same recipe.
