ClassicRye, sweet vermouth, and maraschino, stirred down. The Manhattan's Brooklyn-named cousin.

The Story
Italian bartender Vincenzo Errico created the Red Hook in 2003 at Milk & Honey, describing it himself as a cross between a Manhattan and a Brooklyn — swapping the usual dry vermouth and maraschino combination in favor of a fuller-bodied sweet vermouth, traditionally the more assertive Punt e Mes. It named itself after the Brooklyn waterfront neighborhood and became the first of what turned into a small family of Milk & Honey borough-named riffs, including the Greenpoint that followed it.
