Prince of Wales
ClassicA stirred rye cocktail, gilded with champagne — a drink fit for a future king.
Complex and spirit-forward. Rye gives it a spicy backbone, orange liqueur and maraschino add depth and a nutty-floral sweetness, bitters tie it together, and champagne lifts the finish. Rich and layered — a champagne cocktail with real weight behind it.

The Story
The Prince of Wales is attributed to Edward VII — the pleasure-loving prince who lent his name and appetites to a whole era — and it reads like royalty: rye stirred with liqueurs and bitters, then topped with champagne to finish. It appears in the Savoy Cocktail Book among the era's other "improved" spirit-and-champagne drinks, a template for turning a serious stirred cocktail into an occasion.
