Smoky, bittersweet, and tart. Mezcal's campfire smoke meets Chartreuse's herbs and Aperol's bitter orange, all balanced by a bright spine of fresh lime.
Ingredients
- 0.75 oz Mezcal
- 0.75 oz Yellow Chartreuse
- 0.75 oz Aperol
- 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- Lime wheel · optional garnish
Method

Add the mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, and lime juice to a shaker with ice.

Shake until well-chilled.

Double-strain into a chilled coupe.

Garnish with a lime wheel.
The Story
Created in 2011 by Joaquín Simó at New York's Death & Co, built on the equal-parts logic of the Last Word and the Paper Plane. Swapping in smoky mezcal, herbal yellow Chartreuse, and bittersweet Aperol made it an instant modern classic.
