Mamie Taylor
ClassicScotch, lime, and ginger beer. The forerunner of the Moscow Mule.
Crisp, spicy, and gently smoky. Scotch's malty depth and a hint of peat hold their own against fiery ginger beer, while lime adds a clean, tart edge. A long, cooling highball with more character than a plain whisky and soda.

The Story
The Mamie Taylor is an early-1900s American highball and one of the first drinks to pair a spirit with ginger beer and lime — the same formula that later gave the world the Moscow Mule and the Dark 'n' Stormy. It was a sensation in its day, though who the drink's namesake was, and who first mixed it, is still disputed. Scotch is the traditional base, and it tastes better than you might expect.
