The Story
Created by Audrey Saunders at New York's Pegu Club, the Little Italy swaps the Manhattan's dashes of bitters for three-quarters of an ounce of Cynar, the artichoke-based amaro. The result keeps the Manhattan's shape but trades its spice for an earthy, vegetal bittersweetness that has made it a modern classic.
