The Story

The Last Word was born at the Detroit Athletic Club around the time of the First World War, then vanished for the better part of a century — until Seattle bartender Murray Stenson found it in an old book in 2004 and put it back on a menu. It became one of the great rediscoveries of the cocktail revival. Four equal parts, anchored by the potent herbal punch of green Chartreuse, make it complex, bracing, and unforgettable.
