Irish Maid
ClassicIrish whiskey, elderflower, lemon, and muddled cucumber. Fresh, floral, and green.
Light, green, and floral. Smooth Irish whiskey carries honeyed grain notes, elderflower adds a perfumed sweetness, and cucumber brings a cool, crisp freshness. Lemon keeps it bright, so the drink is far more refreshing than a whiskey cocktail has any right to be.

The Story
The Irish Maid is a modern craft-cocktail creation from New York in the late 2000s, often credited to bartender Jack McGarry. It pairs Irish whiskey — soft, grassy, and gentle — with elderflower liqueur and fresh cucumber, a combination that turns whiskey into a summer garden drink. It helped show that Irish whiskey, long underrated behind the bar, is a natural partner for fresh and floral flavours.
