Hot Rum Toddy

Ingredients

• 2 oz Aged Rum
• 0.5 oz Honey Syrup
• 0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
• 4 oz Hot Water
• 1 Cinnamon Stick
• Cinnamon stick · optional garnish

Method

   Warm the glass by filling it with hot water, then discard.

   Add the aged rum, honey syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick to the glass.

   Top with hot water and stir gently until the honey is dissolved.

   Garnish with the cinnamon stick.

The Story

The toddy is a cold-weather classic, and rum was the original base in many early recipes, long before whiskey became the standard. Aged rum's vanilla and spice notes suit the honey and lemon especially well.
