The Story
The Hoot Mon is a Scotch cocktail named after the Scottish exclamation of surprise, and it turns up in vintage bartending guides from the early 20th century. It is a cousin of the Rob Roy, with Bénédictine adding a layer of honey and herbs that is a natural partner for malty Scotch. Exact proportions vary from book to book; this is a modern, balanced version.
