The Story
Created by Ada "Coley" Coleman, the celebrated head bartender of the American Bar at London's Savoy, in the early 1900s. She built it for the actor Charles Hawtrey, who reportedly took a sip and declared, "By Jove! That is the real hanky-panky!" — and the name stuck.
