The Story
Invented in 1952 at Poor Red's, a barbecue joint in the old gold-rush town of El Dorado, California — reportedly mixed for a couple who pulled up in a gold Cadillac to celebrate their engagement. Galliano's vanilla-anise glow gives the drink its color and its name.
