The Story
The sling is one of the oldest American drink families, predating the word cocktail's modern meaning: a spirit sweetened and lengthened with water, traditionally finished with grated nutmeg. The Singapore Sling is its most famous descendant, but the original Gin Sling is the stripped-back version.
