ClassicGin, lemon and sugar lengthened with soda — the effervescent classic.

The Story
The Fizz grew out of the sour in the second half of the 19th century: take a spirit sour, strain it long, and lengthen it with soda. Gin was the natural base, and by the 1870s the Gin Fizz was a fixture of the American bar — brunch-friendly, bright and endlessly refreshing. Its most famous descendant, the Ramos Gin Fizz, added cream and egg for a New Orleans landmark, but the original remains the template: three simple parts made lively by carbonation.
