Gin Daisy
ClassicThe 19th-century daisy — gin, lemon and grenadine over crushed ice.
Frosty and fruit-bright. Juniper and tart lemon sit against grenadine's sweet-tart pomegranate, the crushed ice keeping everything cold and dilute and easy. A splash of soda adds lift. Pretty, rosy and thoroughly refreshing.

The Story
The Daisy is a mid-1800s family — a sour dressed up with a sweet liqueur or syrup and lengthened with a little soda over crushed ice. Grenadine became the signature sweetener, staining the drink a pretty rose. The style matters beyond its own charm: the Margarita is, in effect, a tequila daisy ("margarita" is Spanish for daisy), making this frosty gin version a direct ancestor of one of the world's most popular drinks.
