Long, dry and gently spicy. Juniper meets a squeeze of lemon and the warm, fizzy bite of ginger ale, which keeps the whole drink crisp rather than sweet. An effortless, refreshing highball for a warm afternoon.

The Story

The "Buck" is a simple, enduring formula: spirit, citrus and ginger ale over ice. The Gin Buck arrived in the early 1900s and gave the template its name — later reworked with lime and ginger beer as the Moscow Mule, and echoed across the Mule and Rickey families. It is the plainest kind of highball, built for the glass and meant to be easy: nothing to strain, nothing to fuss over.
