Georgia Mint Julep

Ingredients

• 1.5 oz Brandy
• 0.5 oz Peach Liqueur
• 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
• 8 Mint Leaves
• Mint sprig · optional garnish

Method

   Gently press the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a julep cup.

   Add the brandy and peach liqueur and fill the cup with crushed ice.

   Stir until the cup frosts.

   Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig.

The Story

Before bourbon became the standard, juleps were commonly made with brandy, and the Georgia Mint Julep keeps that tradition with a peach accent in honor of the Peach State. It is a Southern classic that pairs mint with the state's famous fruit.
