French 75
ClassicIBA OfficialGin, lemon, and a rush of Champagne.
Crisp, bright, and celebratory. A gin sour's lemon-and-botanical snap meets the dry, biscuity sparkle of Champagne, with just enough sugar to round it. Elegant and effervescent, with real strength hiding under the bubbles. A drink that feels like an occasion.

The Story
The French 75 was born at Harry's New York Bar in Paris during the First World War, and it was named — with a soldier's dark humor — for the French 75mm field gun, because it was said to have a kick like being shelled. Gin and lemon give it the backbone of a sour; Champagne turns it into something celebratory and dangerous in equal measure. It has toasted a hundred years of good news since.
