Diplomat
ClassicTwo vermouths and a touch of maraschino. A low-proof after-dinner sipper.

The Story
The Diplomat is a vermouth cocktail from the era when vermouth was a drink in its own right, not merely a modifier — it turns up in cocktail books from the early twentieth century onward. Balancing dry and sweet vermouth with a whisper of maraschino and bitters, it is essentially a spirit-free Manhattan. It has found new life among drinkers seeking flavor without the alcohol.
