Corpse Reviver No. 1
ClassicThe brandy-forward morning reviver, older sibling of the No. 2.
Warm and boozy, with cognac's grapey depth met by the orchard-fruit bite of calvados. Sweet vermouth binds them with herbal sweetness — rich, contemplative, and unabashedly strong.

The Story
The Corpse Reviver No. 1 is the elder of the two "revivers" codified in Harry Craddock's 1930 "Savoy Cocktail Book" — a family of drinks meant, only half-jokingly, to be taken before eleven a.m. to revive the previous night's casualties. Where the gin-based No. 2 became the famous one, the No. 1 is all dark spirit: cognac, apple brandy, and sweet vermouth. It is a stirred, spirit-forward cousin to the Manhattan.
