Chief Lapu Lapu
ClassicA rum-and-passion-fruit punch named for a Filipino chieftain.
Lush and tropical. Passion fruit gives it a tart, perfumed core, honey rounds the edges, and the citrus keeps the fruit from cloying while the overproof rum adds heat and length. A full-throttle tiki punch — sweet up front, potent underneath.

The Story
The Chief Lapu Lapu takes its name from Lapu-Lapu, the 16th-century chieftain of Mactan who resisted Spanish colonization of the Philippines — a bit of borrowed grandeur typical of tiki's freewheeling romance with the Pacific. As a drink it's a proper rum punch: a generous pour of rum built out with passion fruit, honey, and citrus, often served in an oversized vessel meant to be shared. Big, fruity, and unapologetically strong.
