The Story
Flips are some of the oldest mixed drinks in the English-speaking world. In 17th- and 18th-century taverns they were hot ale, rum, and sugar warmed with a red-hot iron. By the 1800s the style had become a cold, egg-enriched drink, and the Brandy Flip was one of the standards of the era's bartending guides. It is rich, simple, and utterly timeless.
