The Story
The Daisy is a 19th-century family of drinks built from a spirit, citrus, and a sweet liqueur, usually served over crushed ice. The Brandy Daisy was among the best known, and the formula survives in disguise: the Margarita is, in effect, a tequila Daisy, and its name is the Spanish word for the flower.
