Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Cognac
- 1 oz Dark Crème de Cacao
- 1 oz Heavy Cream
- Grated nutmeg · optional garnish
Method

Add the cognac, dark crème de cacao, and cream to a shaker with ice.

Shake hard until well-chilled and frothy.

Double-strain into a chilled coupe.

Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

An early-1900s creation that swapped the gin of the original Alexander for cognac — and never looked back. A favorite of John Lennon, who called it his "milkshake," it's the after-dinner drink dressed as dessert.
