Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.75 oz Simple Syrup
  • 2 oz Soda Water
  • Lemon wheel · optional garnish

Method

    Add the bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.

    Shake until well-chilled.

    Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.

    Top with the soda water and garnish with a lemon wheel.

The Story

Spiking lemonade with bourbon is a Southern porch tradition, a summer drink that takes almost no technique. It follows the same lemon-sugar-spirit logic as a sour, just lengthened with soda.
