Army & Navy
ClassicA gin sour built on almond orgeat. Understated and elegant.
Silky and citrus-bright, with orgeat lending a rounded almond sweetness that softens the lemon's tartness. Gin's botanicals hold the center, dry and aromatic — a deceptively simple drink that lives or dies on ingredient quality.

The Story
The Army & Navy appeared in David Embury's influential 1948 book "The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks," named for the venerable Washington social club. It is essentially a gin sour that swaps simple syrup for almond orgeat, a small change that transforms the drink. Long overlooked, it was revived by the modern cocktail movement as a showcase for good gin and good orgeat.
